Styleguides aren’t sexy, but a well-written, clear styleguide lets you, and everyone else working with the brand, get creative & experimental, while staying “on-brand”.
When I joined Kolibri Games, it was a young start-up with a successful free-to-play mobile game, angling to get acquired. Our three-person strong brand team was given the task of making Kolibri Games look grown-up, without doing any major rebranding and without losing our personality.
