Tales Of A Floating City
Far to the east, there are cities unattached to the earth, floating hundreds of feet above solid ground. They're cities in all relevant aspects - there are buildings, sewers, slums and business districts. People spend their entire lives in them, others come to them to find fortune and others leave for a simpler way of life.
The most fortunate own skyships.
Of various shapes & sizes.
Like in any city there are streets and streetlamps, though the major throughfares in these cities don't have cobblestone or pavement. They're canals of air, bridged here & there by suspended walkways. Babbage Avenue is one of the older, though now smaller & more quaint, throughfares of the city in which I unexpectedly find myself.
Luckily I've my sketchbook with me.
